hey guys...tomorrow begins a new day, because tomorrow i will begin takin my engine apart so i can take it out. i am doing this because i am planning on doing the j30/300zxTT engine/5 spd trani swap. i am very excited to begin this project. i know it will work cuz its been done before.

i just wana hear what everyones opions are concerning the j30 twin turbo convesion to 5 speed?

Do you have the FSMs already? Maybe Nissan FAST?

i highly reccomend you upgrade that 5speed...IPT and Level Ten specialize in that kinda work...i know several who haev done it before but said the stock 5spped would not take the VG30DETT too well as the motor was upgraded but not the transmission...good luck with the swap... i wish i could say the same thing but with the way this economy is going and being laid off i had to pull all my saved funds for my v8 swap out and use it to pay bills and such...im assuming you will be going back in with a 1 piece driveshaft?oh and also upgrade the torque converter too while youre in there...best of luck to you and if theres anything we can do to help you along feel free to post...all we ask in return is plenty of pics...lol...oh and BTW welcome to NICO!!!

thanks guys...i did some searching and decided to go with NICO and i think/hope that all the people here will be very helpful...i'm deffintly really excited now that i've got the J on the jack stands and that i'm begining this project...my plan is to be done by the end of summer...just got to keep saving my money

i work for Ocean State Job Lot, and my boss just so happens to be a master welder wit a brand new plasma cutter...hes got all the tools at his dispose to help fabracate and custom weld w/e it is i'll need...along wit a pipe bender for a custom exsaust

and it just so happens to be that my other boss went to school for box building. so he'll be helpin me wit my audio...i'm completly gutting the car top to bottom...and NO detail will be spared...i'm a perfectionist and i love all the little details and so do both my bosses...i'm gutting the inside and takin the backseats out (i never liked people siting back there anyways) and planning on puttin custom fiberglass speakers (most likely a 15inch ev with two 10 klipsches and 6x9's in the doors and two jbl's in the trunk obviously wit a custom box)

i'm planing on spending around 5/7 grand...GO BIG OR GO HOME!!

i feel in love wit the J-30 first time i seen it...its got a beautiful a** and it looks very clean...and i can't think of something better than a twin turbo 5 speed rwd luxury car

P.S. as for pictures, i'm going to school rite now for computer programming, so i'm on my computer all day every day, so pictures won't be a problem...i'll upload thosands of them if you guys want idc...i'll post a couple videos here and there

well if you saw he was converting to manual why did you suggest him taking his stuff to shops that rebuild automatic transmissions?

do you know manuals dont have torque converters?

if you dont know better i apologize, but then suggest if you dont know simple things like that, maybe you shouldnt be giving people build tips?
