J30 Turn Signals to "Fog" Lights?
Third day with a '97 J30. As I've seen posted, I too was a bit surprised to find those lovely big foglights are just turn signals. And I see that some have converted them to "fog" or cornering or fill lights. But I've not found any how-tos about it, although that part's not too much of an issue for me. Is it worth the effort? Do they add some cornering light without blinding oncoming traffic? I'd want the light for effect, not affectation.Thanks in advance.

I just got a J too, and I thought the same thing.. that those were fog lights!
I'm either going to wire up a dual filiment & switch for the front lower blinkers (turning them into fogs)... or install a pair of old aftermarket oval fogs I have. Hell maybe both.. the more light the better.. blind em all!!

Hey I noticed in the j30 picture thread that unc1334 has a fog light mod..unc you have taken the best pictures of a gold J30 I've ever seen. props man. check out his cardomain
anyway, I also noticed this interesting tidbit.........................I was buying replacement bulbs and saw the front side markers and parking lights are both one filament. After replacing, I confirmed my suspicions.. my J30 doesn't have any side-facing blinker! Is this true with all J's? (go check!!)
That means a car in my blind spot wont see I'm about to plow into him.. nor will parallel traffic at an intersection. I will definitely be doing a rewire to correct this... Maybe just two relays that cut-out the side makers with the front blinker. I'll do the fogs at the same time in the next week or so
