J30 Trunk Actuator

OK, it's finally happened to me. A J30 gremlin has cropped up in my beauty. The actuator is making a sound. I opened the trunk with the key last night. It didn't turn with well oiled ease. A little "gummy". Now the remote and interior openers don't work. Key still works. What troubling shooting do you guys suggest I start with?

I did a search for info regarding this and only came up with stuff by me and I know didley squat about the actuators, although I do know considerably more about other things, don't I AZ?

(Can't leave my flank wide open for an obvious comeback. "Preemptive self defence", if you will. )

Pretty quiet on the old site today.

Well, stick a 25 watt bulb in my ear and call me dim wit, the on/off switch in the glove box was off. :oface How it got switched off is beyond me.

However, it is odd that I put in some obvious trigger words for the search and came up with very little. I remembered about the switch eventually because of a post I read here months ago. Why wouldn't variations of Actuator and/or trunk and/or J30 pull up more material or that particular post? My memory maybe slow sometimes but it eventually gets there.
