Hey guys,

Well I know this dude (through friends) who has a 1993 (I think) J30 with 17xK miles. It is dark green with tan leather interior. He has 300M rims on it (dont ask me why  ) which he bought with the car.

The thing is, the transmission is shot. He said I can drive it, but no too fast. I guess what he meant was that you cant go passed 1st gear or something.

Anyways, he is too lazy to fix it and wants to get rid of it. He said he wants $300 bucks for the car or $550 for the car with the rims. I guess I will have to buy the car with the rims since he nor do I have an extra set of rims to put on.

At any rate, I want to ask you guys what I should do. Should I buy it, fix it and then sell it? Or should I buy and part it out? Do you guys think its even worth buying it?

Please give me your input guys. Thanks alot. Do you guys think people will be in need of parts from a dark green J or will I be wasting time and money?

Take care.

Later...

For that price I would jump on it. Cause if you sell it for parts you could make a few $$$$$$ in no time, on ebay or right here.Cheers

Hey everyone,

Well I looked at the car today. It was in a better condition last when I saw it (about a year ago), but its still not bad for the amount of money hes asking for. lol He agreed to give me the car for $350.

The interior is beat up. Although the back seats are alot better than the front ones, they still can use some re-conditioning. The front seats are torn and cracked along with the door panels.

The engine seems to be running fine. However it looks dirty. I guess it can use some cleaning.

The brakes are new. The tires will probably last 1 - 1 1/2 years. Everything seemed to be working.

If I had to rate the car 1-10 condition wise, 10 being the best, I'd give it a 4. No more than a 5.

If and when I do get the car, I will sell the interior for real cheap to whoever is willing to buy it and get it done and upholstered. The bumpers and hood can use some paint.

I dont know if you guys still are interested in it after mentioning everything above. I just have one problem though. If I dont clean my garage within a week (I need to make space), I will give anyone here the number of that guy and buy it from him.

Take care.

The car is a dark green color. I dont know the exact color name for it, but if I am correct, I think Carlos has a dark green J.

The interior is not exactly tan. Its carmel. Anyone know what I am talking about?

I will definately check for the rotors.

Getting my new suspension installed and found out I need new rotors quick. I figured that I was living on borrowed time with them. I'll probably just go ahead and order new OEM units. Your new J with 173k doesn't bode too well for rotors with life left on them.

Damn, for that price I would keep the whole car and take parts when needed for my J30.

Hey Omar, I live in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago (about 30-60 mins due west on 90) and I'm interested in several parts from that J30. I'd be more than happy to drive out to meet you and buy a few parts off of you. One thing I definately need is the front grill assembly.
