ok so when im on the throttle and accelerating. it makes a ticking sound that gets faster when i go faster. but when im off the throttle it doesnt click or anything. it locks both wheels up fine and drives everything but it that noise. i also used royal purple gear oil. could that be the problem?? it sometimes happens and sometimes not but its loud enough that i can here it with the window closed on the highway.

are you sure it's your diff that's clicking?

im pretty sure. i didnt have the noise till i swapped the diff in. and it does it everyone in a while, like at least once a day. then it'll stop for awhile and do it later. in the same day. i've had this diff in for about a month now. and i thought it was because the fluid hadnt lubricated everything yet. but like i said it comes and goes through out the day. idk how to make it stop. it only happens while acceling so im sure it's the diff doing something when the vlsd unit silicone heats up and locks the axles together. and maybe it something inside it but idk. im not a differential guy.. i really dont want to have to do surgery on it.

if you dont much much about it and what to have it done the safe way, you can always find a trusted local diff shop and have them check it out?

well i never dropped the diff or anything plus no wrecks when i put it in. but i got everything i needed: the diff, diff fluid, the driveshaft, and some stance aluminum bushings, even the a new gasket for it. but i dont think we have any diff shops here in tulsa,oklahoma.... :( i have never seen one. and im not trying to go to nissan.. because the one here tries to rape me everytime.. like even on the free lifetime warranty on the s13 auto seat belts.. tried to charge me 200 bucks and say its only a 10 year warranty.

Did you swap the guts out or was it a full diff carrier swap? If you swapped the guts, you didn't shim it properly. If you swapped the carrier, it's likely the bushings or odd chance could be a cv joint in the axles.

yes i swapped the whole unit/carrier. not the guts. and as far as the bushings, i bought some stance aluminum bushings and installed them. so would that make the sound? i dont see how.. well i hope its not the axle.. and the cv joint would only make sound if im turning right?? cause this happens the whole time when it does..

The cv joint in the back is part of the axle. So it's going to see load regardless if you're turning or not
