Or you can buy mine for even less than that.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:Saturday night, I got a call from a friend saying that he saw a J for sale not too far from his house. So I go over to check it out. It's a 1996 J30, near mint condition, & the owner wants $5,500 obo. So I call him up & ask him about it. An hour later, we met up, & he let me take a test drive in it. All I can say was...wow. The J sounds like a muscle car, kind of like my friend's Camaro before we blew the engine. It rode smooth & no bad hiccups with the engine whatsoever. I thought I was going to have a problem with the visibility, but I was wrong. I didn't even feel like I was driving a boat. It felt like I was driving my Honda. The only thing that got me was the location & layout of the shifter. I have to get used to that. Granted, I did feel the engine hesitate, but that was expected because of the weight. All in all, I'm deeply impressed & that makes me even more determined to get a J for myself.
Good:The Bose can play my burned CD'sGREAT stock stereo (Bose)Awesome engine98% of the car works!!
Bad:The tach moves @ random sometimesThe car was just restored, but the guy forgot to connect the wires for the dome lightsSlight body damagePrice tag
All in all, I like it. He said that he's had it up for sale for 4 months & no takers. So I'm going to try to combine the price of the J with what I'm already paying for my Civic. I'll post some pics later.
hey scott how much are you selling your J for???is it the one in the sig...didnt know it was for sale...im also curious about the other J u have...u know the one u use for parts etc...im in the market for a J shell...gr8scott72 wrote:

The dead 93, I finally got tired of looking at and sold to a junk yard. The one in the pic is the one I'm talking about selling. My wife and I are just thinking about getting something a little bigger. These Js are SO tiny on the inside. Not much fun with a rear facing car seat. I don't know for sure on the price but somewhere around $3,000.kbflip02 wrote:

In your photobucket account, under the disired picture, there is a "IMG Code" spot. Click that with your mouse and photobucket automatically copies it to clipboard. Then go to your post and click the mouse where you want the picture to be and press Ctrl and V at the same time. Done.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:I'm trying to post my pics on here from my Photobucket account, but the forum isn't letting me do it, even when I copy & paste. What's up with that?
Thanks. BTW, go on ahead & let kbflip02 buy your J. 2 reasons why I said that...gr8scott72 wrote:

You posted a bunch of duplicate pictures. Might want to change that.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:

1) I ran into a few money problems & I didn't want to make you wait on me. Trying to bail my brother out of his financial crunch, so that means I have to use my savings.
2) I like your exhaust & mods, but I wanted to try a combo of my own. I want my J to be truly unique. No, it doesn't have to be the fastest thing around, but I want it to stand out.
Anyways, here are the pics like I promised...
I'll change the pics on my next break.gr8scott72 wrote:

Also, the hood on that J doesn't line up. Be careful, it might have been wrecked.
What is the light on in the bottom right? ABS? Air bag?#1 Sailor Scout wrote:
Either way (ABS or airbag) I bet it's related to something not being fixed properly from the wreck.ppastos wrote:My crappy picture vision says ABS.
No offence.
None taken.ppastos wrote:My crappy picture vision says ABS.

It looks like the trunk doesn't line up either.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:
Dang!!!! I'm just screwed!!! Sounds like I'd better walk away from this car. But is it beyond repair??gr8scott72 wrote:

I would just walk away from that one.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:

Yeah, but what gr8scott was saying is that I shouldn't buy the car because it was in a wreck. The hood doesn't line up, the trunk doesn't line up, etc. That's why I said I was screwed.driverdriver wrote:ABS light on in the dash usually means you need to change out the ABS module or risk the pump frying itself. Changing out the module is easy.
I agree with gr8scott. Don't buy a wreck.#1 Sailor Scout wrote:

I'm looking for a J in as close to mint condition as possible. I want to only modify it, not spend $$$s on repair work, then have none left for the mods.
I won't. When I get everything else straight, then I'll post a request on the "want to buy" forum on here.driverdriver wrote:

Dang...that's Alabama for ya. I'm soooooo not going to buy that J. The search continues.J30inthe sun wrote:Front left & right rims are on the wrong side. The rear is correct.
Steer clear on a wreck with body parts not lining up correctly.
