hi i was reading up on the diofferences between the j30 t and the j30. aside from the hicas. i seen that the j30t has a stiffer suspension than the j30. i was wondering if the suspension change was due to thicker sway bars or actual suspension components. my sway bars are due for a change soon so i was wondering if i shoudl go for a j30t set or are they all the same.

The spring(front and rear) are different as well as the sway bars(front and rear). Also, what made you think your sway bars are due for a change soon? I have never seen a sway bar break, only the end links( they are the same for T and non T), endlink bushing might need changing( they are the same also.)

would the springs and sway bars for the t fit on a non t? Has any1 come across any poly urethane bushings? Does the J30 share suspesion components with any other infiniti?

All suspension parts (shocks, struts, etc) are for the most part particular to the J. There are no aftermarket suspension components unless you go custom fabrication (which usually means more $$$). Your best and only source for J suspension components in Canada is the dealer.

If your looking for service go to Infiniti of Yorkville (at Pears and Avenue Rd) beside the Porsche dealer. I bought my J their years ago and mostly have had it serviced there. They have top notch customer service.

For parts go to Agincourt Infiniti on McCowan Rd & Sheppard. They have Canada's largest Infiniti parts warehouse. Anything you want they have in stock. All Canadian dealers order from them. They also have great customer service. If you buy parts from them more than once, they start applying the garage discount on your purchase which will save you some $$$.

For non dealer service, I recommend Nizztex off of Islington or Rainbow Auto in Scarborough off the 401. Both garages are familiar with the J. Both shops usually require an appointment because they are always very busy.

Many times Nissan just shifts the roll couple stiffness ratio rearward on T models.........this is usually accomplished by soften the front sway bar and stiffening the rear bar.Springs are defined by the weight of the car sitting atop them. The ratio of front to rear weigh when loaded at 50% [100% gas and 50% max passenger and luggage weight].

By definition: STOCK RWD cars tend to have overly extreme front bar stiffness to make the car understeer by washing out the front tires faster limiting the cornering speed.

Anyway tires are 90% of the equation and suspension is only 10%........from factory standard to optimal [for a single driver suspension] might yield a 3-3.5% maximal improvement whereas tires can create a 8-10% improvement if they are soft and fast wearing enough!

Because the J30 is a McPhearson Strut front it never has the optimal negative camber for a performance tire thru the range of spring compression.
