I need to replace my rear shocks on a 93 J30. I haven't been able to find anything on line in aftermarket. Does anyone know who, other than Infinity would have these items. Searching the data base I have found several brand names that are being used on Q45 and I30's but there are no listings for the J30. Please help.

Unforetunately, there isn't much in the aftermarket for the J. Some members have customized their J with custom made parts. Diamond has done extensive mods on his suspension.

Actually the oem shocks are very well balanced at least for the first 25,000 miles. What you might look at are stiffer rear sway bars..........maybe adapt 300zx TT rear bar.........something around 22 mm would be ideal..........don't change the front bar.

You might be able to get the tauter springs from a 95 and up J30t from a salvage yard. 93 and 94 ts had 4 wheel steering so I don't know if they're the same. Maybe. Time to check Carlos' parts sheets.

Thanks for the response, but please direct me to Carlos' parts sheets. I'm new but with some help I can catch on. i did check the prices at Infinity Parts USA but havn't had the time to call my local Infinity dealer I always wanted a Z but this is as close as I can get for a while. Awesome car. Have always been impresed with the soul of a Nissan product.

Be sure to remember your car is an Infiniti with no y.

One can, but what Q45tech is cautioning against is installing stiffer front bars that will increase understeer, requiring an even stiffer rear bar to balance it. Eventually, your independently sprung car is riding like a buckboard, if you go down this path.__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

Diamond, I had my suspension completly replaced and tonight as I drove home, I thought to myself, "This the finest riding automobile I've ever felt." The OEM suspension definitely doesn't suck because Nissan engineers don't suck. The J is a superb car. Maybe not to your taste but there you have it sports fans.

Just replaced all of the legs on my 93 J. I couldnt believe it was the same car. I have to agree that this is the finest ride I have had the experiance owning. Gotta thank Joe at Scotsdale Infiniti! Saved me over $700 ordering parts from him as having my mechanic order them from the local dealer. Mechanic was more shocked than I was at the difference in the price. Thanks for your help. Just wish there were more aftermarket toys for the J.

Always keep in mind that the selection [modification of factory suspension CANNOT change handling [real measured G numbers by more than 5% at the absolute best -----usually 3%]..........whereas tires can change the numbers by +-10% or more.

Although the better feel may allow non racer driver to feel more secure in pushing the cars limits.

Once measured my lateral G forces in my typical drives, other than braking and a few WOT starts I never got above 0.45G........very few get near the 0.8G that the best tires might accomplish.

sigh,if you cant comparen the ride of a good one to a stock one you will never no what your missing.i trew my keys to a service manager said get lost and tell me what you think.he was gone for over an hour takingn her thru the moves.he came back saying he could drive it all day,he was very surprised that a car that stiff could be smooth too.he tried to walk the resr end couldnt.he said this isnt like any infiniti i ever drove.im just want to help you to see the light.im trying to share this.i learn from experience not what others say.take charge of your own destiny, push the limits that way you know what they are.if you havnt done it you cant see the light.lets put it this way.ive had alot of neck surgery and cant even be a passenger with others cause im not in control and evry time they hit brakes or turn, my head gets sharp massive 10 pain.i dont like pain pills.im very nsensitive to being trown about, even a little.i half to no evry move cars going to make to stay pain free.pretty much if theres to much body roll i have to stiffin it up.it playsn with my neck like you wouldnt believe.but thats ok just makesn me work even harder to find piece with the car.i wish mayhem could put in on this, were are you buddy.his is softer but on the right track.his is badass

Why would you think shock absorbers off a FWD car with a beam rear axle would work on a J30?__________________Brian1995 Q45 & Q45t & 2000 Q45

koni worked with me on it.they are inserts in front.for a 96 I30-maxima.your cars to high to use them.yellows adjustable.they work perfect in my car.i dont have to think ,i know.i took a solid inch off my bump stops too.a must.oh and after years of use they are still tight as hell lowest setting.they have to tame 40% over stock springs/

here we go.-8641-1362 Sport-----these are very nice.if i wanted to i could make my car very taught.youd think a vette was a caddy,lol---at least there normal ones.i only have to use low setting for agressive cornering on the street.i have no idea what they are like with stock suspensions.q45 teck can probubly give us some input.if you want to just reduce body roll start with a reaar sway bar,go from there.there just short of an inch in width solid.replace rubber too.hope this helps.they are inserts.you use your oem housing.at 1.3" you shouldnt have to trim your bumpsdtop, but i really dont no.my cars different.wheight front to back ratio, everything.
