Ok, so after ****ing up a great car by trying to make it faster than it's bigger brother the 300ZXTT, I decided about 3 months ago to sell my J30. I quickly changed my mind and decided to continue with the project, but with my motor pretty much tapped and only a 14.2 timeslip, I figured I would need forced induction, or a new motor. Once again, I got myself ready to dive into another hole of time and money, so I ended up getting rid of the car anyway.

Well, sort of....

I gave it to my little brother, it's his now. Car runs great, looks great, and best of all, I see it everyday in my driveway and can drive it whenever I want ( cuz I paid for the damn thing).

As far as project J30 goes, well it's on hold for now. I can't **** up the car while my brother needs it. Who knows, mabey next year.

Until then I'm still happy driving my 13 second Neon around.

OneFastJ30.....do you mind listing all the mods you had done to your car??? That 14.2 ET is certainly a very respectable number.

I am in the exact same position as you were with your car. I wanted to build a less than 14.0 ET Q45....but after several $$ I now know that a 14.0 ET is impossible without going to extremes as my best time has been 14.6. There are only like 2 more mods for me remaining to do....carbon fiber driveshaft and one ohter that I can't remember right now. So probably at best I will be running around 14.3 on a cold day as my 14.6 was @ 86F with high Miami humidty.

I'll have to find the slip, it has to have been a year since I last had her at the track. Current mods are:

JWT POP ChargerJWT Tuned ECUUnorthodox Racing pulleysStillen HeadersCustom built (also poorly built by me) header-back exhaust

Threw on some sticky tires (BFG Drag Radials) with a conservative size. Didn't know how wide a tire I could run, so I used a 245, fit with plenty of room and just kept a 215 up front.

This run was also before I rebuilt the transmission.

I want to redo the exhaust, throw in some cams, possibly a torque converter, and put her on another diet. I really believe a 13 second pass in a J30 with the stock VG30DE is possible. Next year, I hope to see it. :D

If not, theres always N20. :ylsuper
