no they will not fit. The motor and transmission are borrowed from the Z but that's about it. Yes the struts are VERY expensive. But if you can install them yourself you'll save at least 50% of total cost. At least around my part of town no one wanted to do it...or knew how. I've never done anything like that before, but it turned out to be fairly easy. Just need the right tools.blackJ30T wrote:I checked the price of J30 struts and was shocked. I understand that the J30 is 300ZX derived. The 300ZX struts cost less than half that of J30's. Will they fit? If so are they stiffer?
true, but when your riding in a slammed J with stock struts your probably bouncing all over the place and if not your soon to be after they blow out on ya. odly diamond, that price isn't too bad considering what OEM costs and the fact you're getting something custom made to fit your application. roll on.Q45tech wrote:Even gold and diamond springs and shocks alone won't improve a vehicle's handling by 5% [max G or time in slalom or lap time].VS. brand new oem components.
Good to see you here diamond. I believe your J is the standard version (if one can call yours standard). The touring type has sway bars and stiffer springs. It handles great. Are you suggesting that the J30 can break loose in the rain because of its suspension?diamondj30 wrote:thats a given.the beszt thing to do in my opinion is sway bars.on these crappy handling cars.they are scary like 87 firebird in the rain.
The touring models had the same spring rate as the others and the rear sway bar was actually thinner by 2mm on the T model. Other than that the 'T' got a spoiler and the HICAS system. I'm pretty sure the front sway bar stayed the same..around 21mm.VimyJ wrote:

now i'll throw in the "I think so" disclaimer.
diamond, I know that you don't have a 95 or later J30t. How could your pre 95 J30 come with 95 and later touring model features? Did Nissan attempt to sell a pig in a poke when it said the J30t's suspension was sport tuned and actually provided a stock suspension?diamondj30 wrote:mine came with the bars you have.
