j30 steering / ignition tumbler lock

Please help!

My car has been broken into in the bronx. I lost my keys and dont have money for a locksmith to rekey. I need to move my car back to NJ.

My friend whose a mechanic is going to hotwire it, but will the steering lock prevent me from making turns? Is there any way to disable that lock? Im going to check the manual but if anyone knows of a way please let me know.

i got the same issues- car was broken into and now i can't turn the key/stêering is lock tơo. can anyone help us!
