J30 stalling not picking up speed

My daughter was given a 1995 J30. The car originated in Texas but is now in the harsh winters of Chicago. The other day she called and ask me why does the car stall and then goes dead; she also informed me that it will start back up but the speed takes a minute to pick up. I have no clue as to what is going on with the car. I suggested that it may be the fuel filter and that the throttle body or AACV might need to be cleaned. I would appreciate any insight.

Does the problem come and go ??
Mine does the same thing intermittently and its the MAF.
It seems to be temperature related as it doesn't happen often when its below 60 out .
If you pull the codes it will lead you in the right direction.
I have a replacement MAF on the way.
