Hey there group:
Does anyone in the forum have specs on suspension coil springs, such as diameter, length and stiffness? I want to lower and stiffen up the suspension on our LeMons J30 (soon to be Chump as well)track car. Thanks
Jim

No specs but a guest driver(and fellow j30 lemoneer) flew in to run our j30 at the new years PBIR 24 hr event reported he easily fitted 300zx springs on the front netting a lower stiffer stance.

Have you or any of your team run chump yet? There is a way to get $250 off entry if not.

We are looking at Beaverun and Nelson's Ledges, as both are in our back yard. I'm thinking if we find a light truck spring or something similar I'd give it a shot. Also, I have dissected a stock front strut mount in an effort to (cheaply) add camber adjustment. This will be an interesting fab project.....

Love to see what camber adjustment you cobble up.

Lemons(Jay himself) loved the J30 but with chump J30s are considered $500 stock so watch the upgrades.

Check this out if you want a discount to your first Chump event.

z31 springs front and z32 springs rear. cant use the strut assemblies though. z31 springs will give you atleast a 1.5" drop. i put 1.5" z31 lowering springs and it gave me a 3" drop up front.

I have separated the bearing assembly from the rest of the mount. After noodling around with CAD for a bit I think I have a plan. I need to figure out how much linear movement of the top of the strut generates how much camber change. There is a limited amount of room in there, I want to be confident we can crank in enough negative camber to make this project worthwhile. I'll post pics if we actually get the fabrication under way

thats how far over i had my coilover to get -0.5 degrees of camber. you could try EVO 8 camber plates on the struts. idk though how much play you have to work with with such a large diameter of a spring.

for the rear just get some s13/s14 rear upper arms that are adjustable. i have the spl on there but i know from test fitting they will not clear the stock struts at stock height. when i dropped the rear it gave me like -3 degrees of camber and i have it adjusted out to about -1 degrees now. some of the other brands of rucas are full circle around the shock and those might work.

I'm a little confused by the pic. That looks like left (driver's side) plate with the top of the strut moved fully towards the outboard side. I'd think it would be canted inboard for negative camber. Enlighten me

I dont think Flickr allows remote images.
Open up a photobucket account.
Works well.

Got it. I'm looking for negative camber, as it is a track only car
