J30 shakes when driving it

It feels like it is coming from the front.. When I hit a certain speed it will shake pretty hard, and overall driving it around it shakes a little bit and is very annoying. Now there are 2 things that I am going to be fixing: 1) I just bought a new power steering pump, and will be putting that in sometime today. As of right now I do not have power steering. and 2) I think my front suspension, or part of it, is blown. Too many miles I guess.

Could it be just the suspension doing this? Or is it my rotors? Or what?

I just rebuilt my entire front suspension (struts, upper strut mounts, springs, tension rod bushings, rack, outer tie rods, stabilizer bar links & lower control arms) & I had a vibration problem starting at @65 mph. The culprit was the lower ball joints (totally shot) which you have to buy the entire lower control arm @ $190 each. I am at 113,000 miles, 97 J30.

I have experience wheel vibration with old worn rotors before.

What about motor and transmission mounts when were those last changed?

My mechanic check them over & they were rock solid, I had questioned them as well. My car rides like brand new now, no vibrations & rock solid at 90+ mph now.

i was wondering what you replaced or fixed to stop the vibration at 65. mine does it at around 55. thanks

Where did you find the lower control arms for 190.00? the cheapest I have found was 250.00.

My local mechanic charged me $190.00 a piece, it was a no brainer.

Look at the rubber boots around the ball joint, mine were totally deteriorated.

Mine used to do that it was my tires...once I changed all of them it stopped...I didn't realize bad tires could make your car shake but it did!
