I have a 1993 Infiniti J30 with 136k miles. Anyways, yesterday the FOB remote stopped responding. I replaced the battery and it still didn't work. OK finally all on its own it started working again. Well today the remote stopped responding again. Now the dome light stays on when all the doors, Trunk and Hood are closed and locked but when I open the trunk the dome light goes out. I have reset the security system according to the procedure to no avail. I now have the battery disconnected as not to run down the battery. Please advise me further on this. :wtf2:

Swimshark,

I have no idea what I did. I followed the taking the battery out of the FOB and pressing the Lock button while I was in the house. I went out to the vehicle and unlocked the driver's door with the key to reach in and realease the hood as to reconnect the Positive terminal. As I was connecting the termal back to the battery, I heard the power door locks and I just finished reconnecting the battery and tightening down the terminals. I then closed the hood and checked to see if the dome light was still on, Well it wasn't. I was thinking this is a good sign, I then tried the remote with unlock, lock and all the other functions and it worked perfectly (all back to normal). Please tell me what I did, because I just don't quite understand it...LOL. I will say that the older this J30 gets the more bizzare her issues. But what can I say, I love the car...She is comfortable, fun to drive although it hurts my feelings to feed her premium only gasoline and she isn't the most economical vehicle that I have ever owned. But I do so love this ol' Girl. But again...Please tell me what I did. I will say that I have a second FOB that I am scared to program since the main one is now working. Ya know the ol' adage, If it aint broke, don't fix it as long as one remote works.
