Ok so my Bose speakers have just about had it. I had to adjust the fader all the way to the front because the back speakers are all but gone. I want to know what people have been doing to replace them being they are in a Bose case with an amp hooked up to them. Now I haven't even looked to see how difficult they will be to remove but I have seen pictures on ebay and you can see the back ones hanging down in the trunk. I'm not looking to blast the windows out but just nice all around sound for my dvd head unit.

I'm new here Smartbeatz so I can only tell you what I've read so far. I answered all radio related topics and brought them to the top so no need to search 15 pages, they are all here. If you go with non-Bose speakers W/O the amps you will have to run new wires to all speakers, which I am in the process of doing now. PITA! There is a site that will rebuild your existing speakers. http://www.willmanselectronics.com/infiniti.htm It's easy to remove the trunck panels to get to the bottom of the speakers and amps for removal. It just takes a little bit of time. Good luck on all your repairs

Thanks for the link. I have no problem having to run new wires. That's the fun part LOL. Let me know how it goes. Oh BTW do you have to build new enclosers for the replacement speakers or can you use the existing Bose ones for the door. And let me know what size speakers you plan to upgrade to.

For the front speakers...so far it looks like we'll have to enlarge the existing hole for a 6.5" round speaker. I'm not quite that far yet, I'm still fixing window motors and regulators. All of these other radio related posts have some good info in them. Check them out too.

If you're still using the Bose head unit the problem is probably the amps and not the speakers. Are they crackling, making noises like a siren, have low volume or going off after a few minutes? With a new head unit you'll need new speakers since the Bose speakers don't sound so good bypassing their amp and wired directly.

If you're interested in keeping the Bose system going I have used amps that will bring it back to life.

It really is a good deal ($35 on Craigslist, $30 on my NICO post) and these are the best of the amps. The marginal ones (41 of them) won't be sold. I put matching front and rears in my 90Q45 and the system now sounds great.

Truckmen - I sent you an email.

Hello Mark G.

Well, it wasn't the rear speakers that were bad; at least all that I can determine.
I installed your and still don;t have sound back there. I am researching what my next options are.
