93 J30 ~ 100K miles (83K Granny driven) Arizona car. Well maintained, but does need new shocks.

When pulling forward immediately after backingup I get a double thunk/klunk noise from the rear. Not harsh or metal on metal but even the wife noticed. I suspect a worn bushing.

Where and what should I look for.

subframe bushing,diff mount,u joints,transmission mount.

Probably your drive shaft with the sudden direction change!
