A Good friend of mine, swapped my 1994 Q for his 1993 J, today, to have me look at what it needs. That little car really cooks! The engine noise is quite loud, though. I expected th e same quiet ride, but was suprised. Maybe his mufflers are burning out.

The front rotors are warped. Aren't they the same as my Q? I have my old set, I took off, when I put the cross drilled ones on. If they are the same, I might swap them for him.

The rear suspension plinks, when I hit it, and plinks when I hit the breaks. I thought it was the struts, but they are quiet. Joel thought is was more of a squeak, but it is more of a plink.

While I was under the car, it appears the subframe mounts are leaking, because there is a lot of gue on the spare tire well.

The struts have a lot of travel, but don't seem to be bouncy.

I grabbed the rear lower control arms, and they both plinked, when I twisted them.

O.K., the car hs 91,000 miles on it.

What does it need?

Come on, you J30 guys, I need some help!

Thanks:help

As far as I know, the J30 and Q45 rotors are the same.

Regarding the rear suspension: Is it the same design as the Q's?

If it is and the bushings are shot, then you can replace them with Nismo parts for a Z32 300zx.

I replaced all the bushings in the rear of my 94 Q45 with Nismo parts.

Let me warn you, it is a bit of a headache. But it is way cheaper than buying all new suspension parts.

Also, I replaced my subframe bushings with Energy Suspension parts for the Z32. They fit with slight modification.

The rear wheel drive Nissans of the 90s have similiar suspension designs.

Thanks, It is extremely similar to the Q. Even the exhaust looks the same, except the tubing seems a little smaller.

The sway bar appears to be thicker, than in the Q. Do you think he would notice if I swapped them? :-)

I believe the entire rear subframe is exactly like the Z32, except for the brakes, because the car came with 15" wheels, where the Z32 came with the 16 "wheels.

I found some lower links, for about $50, on "Everything Infiniti" I'll call Joe, in the morning.

I'll price the subframe bushings, and upper links, as well.

I don't think the dealer sells the J30 subframe bushings separately.

If they are hydraulic filled bushings like on the Q, then your friend would have to buy a new subframe.
