Is there a cross reference for the Drivers side power window motor with any other Infiniti/Nissan motor?

If you're having problems with the window, it is most likely the window regulator that is causing the problem.

One rarely hears of the motors going bad and when they do its because the regulator is binding. That said, the good news is that you could go to a salvage yard for the motor since they rarely fail.

I've replaced two window motors in my J30 with rebuilt units from Advance Auto Parts.

At the time (two years ago), the cost was around $50.00 provided you give them your bad motor as core.

The motors had a "lifetime" warranty (as long as YOU own the car) so I took the gamble. So far, so good. It's been over two years and knock on wood, no problems with the rebuilt units.

That makes sense about a bad regulator taking out the motor, VimyJ. My motor was smoked, smelled like a model train transformer on Christmas morning. My lower window alignment pin was broken, too, prolly caused by mis-alignment of the regulator.

I thought about a junkyard one, but who's to say the regulator in the junkyard car was good? FI, imho, I'll deal with it & move to the next expense. =)
