J30 Power Steering Help!!!!!!!

My power steering is making noises (kind of like a screeching) when i turn the wheel...even when I turn it slightly. I think I might need to change the pump... Can someone please adv me what it could be and how to fix it... Thanks

Sounds like you've already diagnosed the issue. Not many things can cause your problem.

Sounds like the pump needs to be replaced. Check the fluid level, if low, make sure you don't have any leaks.

would i have to get to it from under the car..cause i cant see it from the top when i pop the hood

The PS pump is not near the fluid reservoir. The pump is in the front of the engine. It runs off one of the belt pulleys. Lower left (as you face the engine) if I remember correctly.

According to the manual, the pump replacement criteria is:

Replace if you find for leaks around the pump.Replace if you find a deformed pump pulley.Replace for poor performance (can it be any more vague?)
