First off this is not a question i could find an answer through the search. Here is my situation a junkyard around me has a 90 and 91 300zx differential and 95 J30 for the same price. Should i buy the j30 differential and just bolt it up, or get the 300 differential with the j30 out put shafts(for a little bit more money) so i can retain the same gear ratio? So i guess i am asking how big of a difference is the J30's 3.91666 gear ratio against the stock 4.083636 ratio that the 240 and 300 share? Please dont tell me to search i already have tried no answers. Thanks in Advance!!

a .4 difference so when ur speedo says ur going 100 ur actually going 104. i have not done this upgrade yet but i would go with the J30 for ease of installation and i plan on putting some power down so the j30 should help a little

how much are the differentials? and with or without output shafts??? i'm looking into doing the same thing, but i own a 95 so the J30 would be easier as TurboKA said...

I do not know how much they r asking for the output shafts. They are asking 250 for the J30 and the 300 pumpkins. Anymore feedback from people who have done it both ways. Thanks!!

ok, cuz i read something about not being able to use the stock 240sx shafts because of one shaft having to be longer on one side than the other... but i could be wrong. i suppose using the J30 shafts makes sense since it's a direct bolt on for my 95 240...hehehe:)
