My car's stock alarm keeps going off on its own for no apparent reason. How can I either disable it or troubleshoot the problem. It is really getting annoying every 20 minutes going out to the car and "disarming" it by unlocking the driver side door. Any idea as to what is going on?

The easiest first check is to make sure all doors, hood and trunklid are completely closed, and that their respective button switches are being fully-opened. Also, cycle all the door and trunk locks to make sure they aren't causing a false open signal.

I have this same problem and it seems to go off when the car is sitting in the sun. Can there be a sensor goes off if it gets too hot? Is there an easy way to just disarm the alarm?

Technically, if you want to get around fixing the alarm, you can ground the orange wire at the alarm module above the brake pedal and this will disarm the alarm permantly... I haven't done this on a J30 so there may be unlocking/locking issues afterward. I've done this on other cars, though, without a problem. The only thing could be a potential problem is that the actual disarm wire will unlock the doors seperately from the unlock wire. If this is the case, there will always be an unlock oulse going into the lock module and it will possibly cause the car to not lock. If you notice problems after grounding that wire, just unhook it.
