j30 not starting

Hello repair shop -- I need a little help. please pass this email onto a service tech>

I have a 1995 infiniti j30 -- with 166,000 miles on it. I went to start it this morning and when I turn the ignition the car tried to start and started to fire for about 1 second then -- was just spinning over and over. I could stop and start, trying to start it again and again .... the result was the same. that is it would catch and start to crank but then after a second or two just spin the motor over. sorta like it was flooding. while it is trying to hit and start, if i press the gas pedal it will stop trying to start, but motor continues to spin. i bought the car used and have been driving it for about 1 year. Also, the timing belt needs to be replaced, but I'm sure that is hasn't jumped time.

I have replaced the fuel filter and the 6 spark plugs -- this was after it would not start, not before. I thinking the fuel pump? maybe the ECM? Guys i know i need to take in it to the repair shop but, i want to try to fix it myself. so anything you can do help will be greatly appreciated! so what are your suggestions? thanks Fred Sheppard - email is [email protected]
