Car: SPL and crazy electronics to show off

Ok heres the prob... while reclining my seat in my '95 j30 it got stuck for a moment then automaticly adjusted the back to full lay back position now im stuck like that with all the seat adjustments working except the reclining back adjustment... so i checked the switch and it works... i hear the switch try to turn something on in the controller but nothing happens... so im guessing the motor burnt out or the seat got jammed bad.... now my question is there a way to manually move that worm drive motor or is there a way to feed voltage to it to move it my self?

It looks like you have stumped everyone with this problem. This is a rather serious problem you have because it renders the car practically undrivable. I just took a look in the service manual and it says that the power seat is protected by a cicuit breaker. Where the breaker is, I have no idea. Maybe someone else can tell you (and me) where to find it.

How's the battle going? If you need to place the motor, you might try looking for used parts as this problem you're having seems quite rare. Have you been able to check to see if there isn't something jamming the mechanism? You might have to unbolt the seat to see what the heck is going on in there.

Well finally got the seat out of my car but learned after x-raying the whole seat that there is a motor and a gear built into the back of the seat... problem is the back panel of the seat is held in by those stupid clips that break off with a decent amount of pressure on them... any ideas on how to get this panel off easily?

the clips break, or the seat back breaks? if you break any fasters, you can get them for relatively cheap at any dealer.

those clips are removed by bending up on the head with flathead screwdriver. (i dont know if there is access for this).

you X-rayed the seat to find where the motor was? why not just look in the service manual?

the BF section of the manual has all the info you will need.

well just the clips break so its not a big loss if i break them all... and i dont have a service manual so the next best thing was to x-ray it to get an idea of wuts in the seat

Are you serious... you x-rayed the seat??? How the heck did you do that? Must have some serious medical connections!!! "And next up Dr. Jones, we have a J30 seat with spinal damage... "
