Hey, i've been looking for a mafs, a local mechanic told me the J30 mafs is the same as the Z32 one.

Can anyone verify this?

VG30DE isn't always VG30DE, but in this case, it is the same.

Parts codes match

now keep it on the down-low, don't want to get gouged ...

When is a VG30DE not a VG30DE? You're probably thinking of the VQ30DE... that was found in the Maxima, Pathfinders, etc... But the VG30DE has pretty much always been a VG30DE... I'm not aware of any vehicle that had it that most all the parts were not interchangable. But then again, I'm not the expert on them, that's just what I have/have not seen... =)

While currently true for the VG30DE, often different cars have the 'same' engine but some or lots of parts different, i.e. KA, SR, CA, VQ, etc. Thats really what I meant by that statement was juts because X is in A and X in B, does not mean X and X are always the same
