I was able to get the rear end off of a 93 j30. Since it was not a 95-96 I needed the axels also. Everything was a direct swap and I recommend it to anyone with the time and willingness. The hole swap only cost 150 plus the free labor.

Did you use the J30 axels? I'm looking for a cheap lsd swap like yours and I'm not sure how to go about installing a J30 lsd.

Ditto, I need to know if those J30 axles will bolt in as well, seeing as I grenaded one.

If the j30 is not a 95 96, check the door jam for the date. You will need the axels b/c they are about 2 inchs longer. And you have to swap your end case b/c the j30 only has 2 studs that mount to the car. It is pretty straight forward if the salvage yard will let you pull the rear end off of the j30, that way you can see how to disconnect the axels.
