I just Picked up a j30 lsd from the junk yard and also got the rear axles since it was a 93' j30 so the bolt patter is different. My question is about the output shafts on the lsd. Everything spins very smooth but one of the output shafts has a lil play if i try pushing it in and out. Can this big a big problem and how can i fix that if possible. What can be the cause of this. I dont wanna put it on till im sure its working fine.

Let me know.
Thanks,

the axle?? no its not hard to change. just unbolt the 5 bolts from the diff and then you'll see a cotter pin on the other side of the hub. pull the pin out and pull axle out of the hub. then take your new axle and do those steps in reverse.

I got the axles. The problem is the play on the flange on the actual lsd. Thats my question

it should be fine. The axle will hold it in. If your unsure, go get another one

No problem RIcan13. I hear peolpe refer to the flange as axle, shaft, honestly I've heard it all. Its hard finding lsd in the junk yard in miami, every is on that junk like white on rice. I've gotten lucky twice.:)
