ok. so let me get this straight?! i know there are other threads out there but whatever.. i can put a 95' or 96' j30 lsd on my 91 240 without modifications other than some longer bolts? and using the oem diff cover!? correct me if im wrong lol..

correct. As long as it's 6 bolt it will line right up, if it's 5 bolt you need the j30 axles too. Don't worry those fit too. There is a lot of info on this topic, search.

Get the six bolt one, keep the two long bolts from the j30 to use on your car, get diff fluid, and lsd additive, new gasket, and swap the caps.

install and take an advil.

its actually a very easy and straight foreword swap. i did it on the first 240 i built. so easy i was actually hurt at the time and talked my GF through the swap as she did it. lol

i havent checked it out yet but my local junkyard has a 94 j30 lsd for like 30 bucks can you only use the 95' and 96' becase they have something different like abs or suttin the j30 models are from 94'to 97'
