Hello All, This is a great forum, all the information is very helpful.I bought a 1993 J30 got it kind of cheap. Its in pretty good condition, sunroof, automatic windows all work fine. But the only concern is that if I'm about to climb a road over the hill, the J30 start loosing engine power , so i need to give it more gas to make it up the hill. And pick up is not that great either. So, I was wondering that what would you guys recomend for the J30....Should I get a tune up done or is it something else !!!!I appreciate all the info .....Also, do you guys recomend that I should take it to Infiniti dealer and have him run a check on it ??

Thanks !!!!!

i would check the ECU codes and see if maybe you have bad KS or something... Bad KS will make a difference on a car like the j30 that doesnt have a ton of extra power...

have you done any maintenance, like filter and fluid changes?

Hi Thanks for the input. Well, the person I bought from he told me that he did replace the transmission fluid and engine oil and stuff but thats pretty much it. So, do you recomend that I should take it to an Infiniti dealer or autozone people should be able to tell me about the problem ?

You might call first to make sure Autozone has a reader for ODB1.

But about 10 minutes of work you can pull the codes yourself. The ECU is behind the kick panel on the passenger side. The pisser is the screw and LED are on the front of the ecu so you have to unmount it and gently turn it around.

Heres the HOW to on pulling the codes.ODB1 section.

Also please note that a Knock Sensor error will not make the check engine light turn on
