Does a J30t trunk hood fit on a J30 correctly....I've been looking at one and can't tell if the hood has been replaced or if its been rear ended. What brougth my attention to it was that it does seem to sit level when its closed, you can't unlock from inside the car (only with the key)...motor still works though and it doesn't want to stay open when lifted....

Any help.....?

I have a J30T and the lid will stay open about half way. Probably my springs are getting weak, plus the spoiler add extra weight to the trunk lid. If the owner will let you, remove the trunk liner and look for evidence of rear ending underneath it. Also look at the spare tire compartment. Crawl underneath and check the bumper mounts and frame. Also look for any paint overspray or slightly different colors. Don't rely on a carfax report, they only show accidents that were reported to the insurance company.

Good advise but better yet, spray it down with a water hose and see if it leaks into the trunk.
