Check the ground cable on the battery as well as the positive cable going to the starter. You have to eliminate one thing at a time.Since you have lights I would start with the positive cable , as in good connection at the starter/solenoid.

Use a voltage meterGround the negative and see if there is 12 Volts at the Starter end of the cable coming off of the positive terminal of the battery.

the starter and the wire to the starter both are working..... is it possible that the ecu is bad?

check the most vital relays and fuses that control most of your main components for the engine before you go and take out the ecu. most of the relays that i am refering to are located in the engine bay next to the battery. for the relays, check with an ohmmeter. Start with the coil side of the relay and if you get a reading, then thats good, if not then there is an open circuit in the coil of the relay. Now for the switch side of the relay, if you don't get a reading, then its good but if it does, then the switch is stuck closed which can causea serious problem.

does it crank??? if it does, then check the fule lines that are going into the engine, most likely that the lines are switched (a lot of swaps go through that mistake) ..... happened to me, and it drove me insane for a whole day

if it doesnt crank, then check your transmission wires (the wires that connect to the transmission, make sure that they are all connected), if you ECU is not detecting that transmission is on park, then the engine wont even crank

I took the engine out about 20% and put it back in... and the damn thing started right up.... i guess it wasnt grounded perfectly or something.... all i need now is to find out how much transmission fluid does my car take.... Thanks for the help .....................
