J30 Install S13

This weekend I installed a J30 carrier in a Non ABS S13. Has anybody else done this type of install? If so what did you do with the 2 bushings that you bolt to the front of the carrier. I asked that because I think I need to cut the metal cylinder that goes through the middle of the bushing. It sticks out about a 1/4 inch. Under hard acceleration it makes a knock noise. You can see the big bolt and washer that goes through the bushing next to the driveshaft in the picture below.

Yep Ive done that one. That was my first upgrade on my s13. I basically bolted it right up. No cutting or any of that. I didnt use the j30 bolts though. I used the ones from the s13. The bolts may be longer, I dont know. Mine works great with no knocking sounds under any circumstances. Sorry Im not much help on that.
