I am purchasing a 95-96 J30 differential in the near future for my S13 240sx HB. I did a lot of searching/reading on this and am just trying to clarify a few things. S13's stock differentials bolted directly, with no bushing. However, the J30 differential comes with bushings.

My main questions are this... Will the S14 bushing kit from ES (7.1118) work in the J30 differential? Also do you have to use J30 hardware/bolts or will the stock S13 hardware work? It all seems to bolt up in the same location, but I am trying to make sure I do it right the first time. I see people using universal rubber washers with lowes big washers and calling it a day and I am trying to keep from having the issues a lot of them are having (broken/cracked subframes and similar - from not using washers and such). Thanks for your help

this has been covered, i myself have a thread on this. so you didnt search to much. but atleast you know about the bolts and such. you will need the j30 bolts. you will need solid washers, stance has aluminum ones for 74 on egay. you can sometimes find no name aluminum ones on EGAY for around 50. you will also need the s13 cover to swap to the j30 diff. also possibly a driveshaft, most likely abs. and you will need new fluid for the vlsd also. get all these parts and take 2 hours one day swap it all in drive it easy and call it a day.
