j30 gearing questions

Ive got a hatch with a black top sr and a j30.the stock j30 gearing makes my motor bog out when i pull awayim pretty sure its 3.96 but the stock 240 gearing is 4.08ive seen some people make hybrid diffs from the stock open diff and j30.how does this work? thnks

Just swap the ring and pinion gears from both diffs.

i seriously doubt the j30 rear end is making your car "bog out". i run a j30 rear on my ka and it doesnt bog, my buddy runs one on his ca, it doesnt bog out either.

seriously loli thought it was something else at first but then my friend installed a j30 in his hatch with a kaand it does the same thing idk makes sense

just get hicas vlsd and its the same as stock iirc

well mine doesnt, the slight gear ratio change will not make that big a difference.

i just want to know if anyone has done the hybrid diffand if so how was it

NA Z32 diff is the way to go if you want vlsd with a stock 240 gear ratio.I don't think you can swap out the ring and pinion. I tried and the ring gear bolts were bigger on the J30 diff. They may have smaller ones on the 6 bolt flanges diffs but I'm not sure. The 5 bolt one that i had did not work.
