j30 gas meter works in reverse

I have a 1994 J30, and the gasometer works in reverse. I never know how much gas I really have now. What can I do to fix this and how much does it cost?

You are saying when your tank is full it reads empty and when its empty it reads full and works perfect every where in between except it goes up instead of down?

The circumstances that would have to take place for that to work would have to be nothing short of incredible. Somehow I think more detail will help here.
