J30 gas light constantly on

I have a 95 j30 and just yesterday i had the gar filled up and now the gas light wont turn off. What could it be? How do i Fix? PLease help me out in this situation. My email [email protected]

The ballast is probably locked in the low position or broken indicating low fuel. Only way to fix it is to remove the tank or drive over a few speed bumps to see if the ballast releases.

thanks but it doesnt seem to work. Ny has some great potholes. im glad that the gas gauge still works. i would hate to play the guessing game. there is no way in lowering the gas tank it fix the light. Another problem that i have is that the brake light come on when i step on the break. I had someone step on the brakes and i visually check the brake lights. All look ok..all of them come on like normal. WTH. Any ideas??

Quick update...the gas Light is off and the brake Light every time i brake is still on....

Now the car wont start up...I took out the battery and charged it externally...placed it back in and it started up just fine ...i let it run for a while then it slowly dead...until it was off completely then no power...i juiced it back up with jumper cables and started back up....i let it run then it died again after a while....I asked around and some say it could be the alternator...what do you guys think?? Where could i buy a OEM or rebuilt OEM alternator. ???

Best place to buy a new or remanned alternator is a Nissan dealer (it will come with a warranty). Local rebuilder shops may also have them without a warranty.
