Replacing the front strut (inserts) on my wife's car soon. I read the posts on NICO and I have the FSM. I am wondering how hard (or easy) it is to unscrew the gland nut that holds the insert in. And, whether it is necessary to replace the fluid in the strut tube? Also, what wrench size is the gland nut? The FSM makes no mention of renewing the oil in the strut.
(My Toyota MR2 has a simliar design and the gland nuts can be a hugh pain to remove. Some replace the fluid with ani-freeze or similar, the purpose of which is to keep dissipate heat from the strut.)
Thanks for your help.
Don
