J30 Fan Blade replacement ?? Help

Hey everyone. First let me start off by saying how cool this site is. I have found some great info on here. Everyone seems to be very helpful. I love sites like this!

Okay here is where I hope that yall can help me. My father-in-law has a 1993 J30 base model. He has been over heating and we tried to replace the thermostat.After more research on here I think the more likely culprit is the water pump has gone bad and leaking via the weeping hole. While moving the car in to the garage to fix it the fan blade struck the shroud and the blades were broken. So now I am in need of new ones for very cheap. Big question is will a blade from a 93 300zx fit on the engine in his J30. I have been able to locate one from a 300zx locally for about $40, so I would like to know if anyone has had success using one. My father in law is on a very limited budget and we need to try to save money any where we can.

Any help would be great appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the stock fan blades on the VG30DE are the same regardless of whether its a J30 or 300ZX.

That is what I thought as well. From what I read the water pump will not fit on the J30 as it is to short. We ended up just breaking down and getting the correct one. Better safe than sorry
