J30 exhaust system and 100,000 mi maintenance

I have a 97 J30. Recently it has been sounding like a motorcycle. I took it to a mechanic to have it looked at and he told me it needed an exhaust system. One side costs around 800-850. I need both sides. He suggested that I may want to consider a new car. What is the trade in value of the car? Is the car even worth being fixed?

Welcome to NICO.. You could get a used exhaust from a wrecked car (JUNKYARD) and install it, and youll be fine! Maybe $200 for the exhaust and then install it shouldnt be too bad.
