I recently purchased a 1993 J30 with 130xxx miles. What is the best suited, all around oil weight for this engine? I've read either 10w30 or 5w30. I would rather stay away from synthetics & change oil every 3,000 - 4,000 mi. Old school maybe? I live in Missouri where temps. fluctuate greatly with the seasons. I have also encountered driver side window issues. The window will go down, but will roll up only with assistance? The bose radio will not play Cd's. The radio displays error when a cd is inserted?Any advice would be greatly appreciated.Overall, the car is a joy to drive, if I can get a few of these issues resolved.

5-30 if you deal with both hot and cold temps.Radio is a VERY common issue. Its old and needs replaced You may be able to salvage the window issue with some lithium grease on the actuator mech. And by ALL MEANS find out if your timing belt is due for a change. If it breaks.. Your walking.

I'll try lubricating the window actuator. I do know that the H20 pp & timing belt was changed out at about 100xxx mi. Thanks

Use 5w30 in fall/winter

10w30 in the spring/summer.

J's run great on Mobil1 and non Fram/Honeywell filters.

your radio might need repairing, these Bose systems have like a 10 year trouble free type deal. at least thats what the companies that fix them says.

Where might I find a drivers side window regulator for my 93J. The dealer price was around $400. OUCH! You mentioned $75-$80. Thanks for your help!

What is the expected cost of timing belt, wp, and tensioner? I see part costs, but what should I expect in labor?
