J30--driver door wont unlock/open

My friend's J30 driver door was becoming increasingly harder to close, now it wont unlock or open from the inside or out. Since the door wont open, we cant get the panel off to look inside. What to do?

fear of this scenario has caused me to preemptively replace the lock and actuator on one Q and i just ordered a set for the '95.

describe increasingly harder to close? assuming the lock assy (part that contacts the stryker) is the problem, you might try window down and getting in there with a form of slim jim to try and push down on the upper release tang (likely has a blue bushing around it).

start shopping for a replacement door panel---the other way is to cut holes in the panel to access.
