For some reason, the passenger-side rear door panel on my 95 J30 was looking BAAAD. The vinyl (doors are not leather, only the seats) looked wrinkled and stretched.

Called the local BMW dealer (I don't have a local Infiniti dealer) and asked them where they take their cars for any leather work. They told me to call "Precision Leather and Vinyl" here in Columbus, GA. Their specialty is car upholstery.

Went to the place and talked to the owner. I told him I would remove the door panels myself (so I could keep driving the car and to save on the labor). They charged me $225.00 to do BOTH rear doors. I thought it was very reasonable.

It took them a single day to do the work. I'm VERY pleased with the outcome. It matches the rest of the car perfectly. Now I want them to do the front doors. :)

The next posts will be the images.

One luxury touch on a G50 Q45 is leather on the door trim up to the window sill. Unfortunately, this means it is susceptible to sun damage and elbow resting. Plastic sills are much more durable, if not as esthetically pleasing.

I think they look much better without the creases. Smooooooooooth as silk.

I miss the "drape" effect, too, but that is a really nicely done job. Very clean.:thumbup

Yeah, when I was getting my estimate, the guy at the shop told me that the creases would not be there because they were using a thicker vinyl than the factory one.

I looked at the stuff they removed at it was almost paper thin. The stuff they put on the door is considerably thicker.

I wasn't sure how I would like it but I like it better without the creases. The creases seem to trap a lot of dirt on my front doors. I always have to wipe the front panels up and down to get them to clean up.

Like anything else, it's a personal preference thing. I'm just glad I don't have that nasty flaw on the top of the door panel any longer.

Carlos, would this guy like to be the "Official Interior" guy for NICO?

Could he set up a little better price to offset the shipping costs?

And what would leather be, I've got a little elbow wear on the drivers door on my Q :(

I'm not sure if he would want to start a mail-order operation. The place does a lot of business as it is.

I assume leather would cost a little more. I was wondering what it would cost for him to redo the driver's seat.

Luckily, on the J30, the door panels are all vinyl, not leather. I understand the Q has leather on the door panels, right?

Yes, my Q has leather on the door panels, as well as the dash and center console.

There is a little shrinkage on my rear panels, in the center area above the arm rests, and it has wrinkles in it. It is not a big issue for me, but someday...

My seat leather needs to be redone..... I just noticed today that there are some creases on the top (right by window) on the door panel....... Wont be readily noticeable until I hit that 250k mark......!
