In Laymans terms:

1. You'll need a 95+ and newer J30 with 6 hole output flanges. Let's call them "Ears" the two ears.

2. You will remove your differenctial, on S13 you'll have to swap out the rear cover, on S14 should be the same as J30 which only has 2 bolts instead of s13's 4 bolts.

3. Remove your six bolts on each "ear", remove 4 bolts in the front, remove 2 rear and 2 mid bolts what hold the Differential up.

4. Should be direct swap, only trick is if the sway bar gets in the way, but just let it drop on a pillow or something. Booya.

If the diff has 5 bolt output flanges, its a 92- early 94. If it has 6 bolt output flanges its a late 94-96.

Well it doesn't matter what year you get the output shafts from. If they are five bolt..... Get the axles with it. If its 6 bolt, then just get the output shafts. You can also get 300zx output shafts and then get j30 5 bolt axles.

If you don't have the output shafts no problem, you just take the output shafts off your 240sx and put them in there.

But, the labor to do that and skills you'll have to read up and not for beginners really, so that's problem.

There are shims in the differential and for the output shafts, you can read on how to do it or take it to the shop, I wouldn't mess with it if you don't know what you're doing, the differential can lock up on your when driving, which I had experienced before, dangerous.

Just find a 95+ and newer J30 at the junk yard and it will be plug and play. You can look at the J30's driver door and it will have the date like 02/95 which is February 1995. you want 95/96-97 with 6 hole output flanges.

It's liek $65-80 at any junkyards. YOu'll need 12mm, 14mm, 17mm, socket set, 2 12mm wrenches, 2 14mm wrenches as you'll have to hold the bolts on one side and loosen nut on the other end.

Some may have nut head stopper, but have a pair of 12mm and 14mm just in case.
