OK, i just bought the front side bushings from a forum member and they dont fit my ~95 J30 diff, but they DO fit my Stock S14 open diff.....

When i looked at the 2, i noticed that the J30 deff has a metal ring around the inside of the hole and the rubber material on the bushing is exactly the same diameter as that metal ring so it doesnt fit..

If u look at that picture ull see the ring im talking about, my S14 diff doesnt have which allows the bushing to fit just fine. Now my question is WHY is that ring there and do i need to get SPECIFIC J30 diff bushings...??

I just finished removing all the rear suspension and sub frame bushings from my S13. The oem bushing are steel ring on the outside, rubber in the middle and a steel sleeve in the center for a bolt to go through. My guess is that the j30 differential you have, had the oem center rubber and sleeve, but it was torn, cut out or burned out.

I have to remove a lot of those rings to put in polyurethane bushings. I removed them with a hack saw carefully and patiently.

Good luck
