Hey all, I just rented the OBD2 tool from Autozone to see whats up with the J. Now on my 2000 I30 the port is right under the steering wheel, However on the J I cant find it. There are a couple of port looking things underneath the steering wheel, but none of them fit the Tools port. Do I need a special adapter? or is the diagnosis port located somwhere else? Its a 1993 J30 non touring. Thx again.

Mike

OBD2 is implemented on 96 and up. For 93-95 you need OBD1. Also I think the codes can be read with some of the light on the dash after you short some contacts. I do not know how but I read it can be done.

As wes said ..the ecu is behind the passenger side kick panel ..theres two bolts that mount it ..remove the bolts and GENTLY turn around so you can access the screw and see the led .

heres how to read the blinks .http://www.nicoclub.com/articl...shtml

The port is under the left side of the steering wheel.

But you either need a Consult or a compatible scanner with the right adapters.
