I am a newbie to NICO and have recently bought a J30t and am now restoring it. Does anyone know how or can direct to where I can get info on replacing the dash? Is it easy? Is it worth it? The dash has only moderate cracking but would like to see it pristine. What are my options if I don't replace it?

The dash has a series of small cracks over and just to the right of the hump over the intrument panel. Also, I have to say this is an incredible site, I am so fortunate to have found it and I do have one question – why does it say "Driving mother's car" under my username?

I can't imagine dash replacement would be easy - but it can be done. I'd check with some auto trim and upholstry shops to see if they can repair it before you pull everything apart.

Check with http://www.car-part.com for used parts or http://www.everythingnissan.com for new.

It says driving Mom's car because you are a newbie. Once you have made a number of posts you get a new name. The faster you post the faster the name changes.

As you will see there are several "Post Whores" on here who say anything just to get as many posts as possible.

Welcome though, this is an awesome site with very knowledgable members and I must say you have purchased an awesome car.

Enjoy it! And take good care of her!

Haven't heard of too many J's cracking like that. Must have been some serious sun exposure over the years. The qualitly of materials in the early to mid 90s Infinitis is very high.

I'm with Heath on intial repair solution. Maybe your investigations will led elsewhere though. Keep us informed.

What color interior do you have? Keep an eye on ebay and if you see some interior parts in the same color, it's likely they have a dash laying around somewhere.

My J30t is dark green with tan/biege interior. I've already located replacement dashes at local salvage yards but want to use that as my last option. Acquiring a used dash is the easy part, replacing looks to be difficult. There has to be some sort of vinyl compound that will repair moderate dash cracking. Isn't there?

Replacing the dash is not easy, but it can be done. I found this link for a repair kit. Might want to try that first before ripping your dash apart.

I just have to say everyone involved with this site is awesome! Everyone is so helpful and knowledgeable. I love my J30t and am excited that other people are equally excited about their Infiniti/Nissans. Thanks everyone.
