I took my '97 J30 to get an oil change today at my independent Nissan mechanic in SoCal. Coming out of the appt, I pressed the button to open the cup holder to put the mileage sticker in there and the button flew up and hit me in the head. I'm wondering if the mechanic pushed on the front of the cup holder cracking the button and then my opening it did it in. I'd like to pull the cup holder out and see if there's any plastic I can Gorilla Glue back together. Does anyone know how this is accomplished?

The complete cupholders are on e-bay , to remove from console - w/cover open (vertical) there are two philips screws on the side facing dash , or fwd of the vertical/open cover. Screws are 3" down on ea. side . I HIGHLY SUGGEST YOU USE LIKE A TELESCOPING MAGNET to assist in screw retrival .........defininately looks extremely likely to LOSE them "down-under " :lolling:
Also the e-bay photos are somewhat of a help.AND another possibility is @ INFINITI Dealer CAN give you the page of EXPLODED VIEW of that part of console - VALUABLE ...IF you may think you need it.
Entire cupholer itself e-bay = $40-$48 at this time !

p.s. ONCE you can remove intact ,and you may think to try gluing it ( MUCH,MUCH easier when "out" now) , COME ON BACK -the fast dry epoxy - I must tell you do's , don'ts , & other techniques to be successful glue -job , Ya ! :yesnod

He can get the exploded view out of InfinitiPartsDeal, Mac. They have the same parts drawings that are in the N/I database. There's also a drawing and some rudimentary instructions in the FSM, on BT-11 here:

Thanks everyone, fortunately none of the pieces were broken AND I found them all (2 Springs and 2 Plastic Pieces (Including the Button)). One had fallen down in between the carpet and the center console, but I was lucky to get it. Especially lucky, because I didn't even know what I was looking forward, as far as how many pieces. I was able to figure out how they go back together, reassembled, and all was well. . . for AWHILE! A month or so later, the button flew out again. I now knew what to look for and how to reassemble, but this time, I put a dot of hot glue on each attachment point of the springs and the plastic "slider piece" (black), and (knock wood), all has been well since.
