I saw Yoda bought a cable from Emance so i decided to do the same. I got the cable with the board in the mail and 3 of the pieces were bent so i put them back into place I bought a cable from ebay but it didnt work because i have vista so i went to radio shack and bought a serial to usb (db9) for 40.00 that works with vista and guess what? I still cant get this damn software to work with this cable. So im asking.. how did you guys get it to work? is there something in particular i gotta do cause this is driving me nuts

I think you are plagued like the rest of us who bought crappy cables that work with some cars (ECU's). Best you can do is get a refund (If you can) and get one from Blazt.biz who is also a NICO sponsor. But they are recommended by Mike Goodwin (Q45 owner).

Might want to keep the serial cable or just buy the USB one from them for a little more.

Good luck

Mine works like a charm !!!Did you load the serial to usb driver ??Also it does work best with the adapter he suggest , although I finally got it to work with a plain jane serial to usb cable after finding the proper driver.

i bought one from radio shack and used the driver but it still doesnt work emances software keeps saying initailized failed ect. and a pop up comes up saying adapter interface not detected. So i downloaded a different driver today and im gonna see if this works but if not I want a new board. The pin things on the connector, are they supposed to go in all the way to the DDL connector?

I put mine in as far as they would go then zip tied them together.I leave the cable coiled up under the dash.

Thanks for that link i believe that is a whole lot better than paying 45 at radioshack lol.. By the way I spoke to jason from Emance and he said he is making a revised verison of the cable? that fits right into the ddl connector instead of you having to force it in. So im waiting for that. or my money back, whichever comes first
