That is nice. At least is different then the casual RED color. Once I have some cash I will be doing my Q45 brakes on the S14.

I have had my J30s for about 10 months. Love em. Mine are black though. I bought new calipers and wanted to keem them low key.

Where do you live man? I've never seen your car. What meets do you attend? I would LOVE to see another CA in person!

Is that an Evo caliper and wheels? Do you need a special bracket to mount that caliper?

Besides price - are there any other advantages to this compared to the Z32 set up? Does this set up tend to clear a more array set of wheels?

They are direct bolt on (ie stock type lines fit), they work with the stock master cylinder and ABS system and they clear more wheels as they are 2 piston and both are inboard. They are also less aggressive as many complain the Z brakes can be (feel like on/off switch). The only downfall for 4 lug cars is a requisite redrill (but the same has to be done for Z brakes). That and there are hardly any performance pads for the calipers. All I have found is EBC Red Stuff and Hawk HP+.

Oh thanks - I always thought the hawk pads were of a pretty decent caliber.

I swear - you are one of the few members on this board who are great with replying to questions - Granted there is alot of information - but damnit if you aren't spot on with alot. You've been a big help with my knowledge of 240's along with a select few more. Without the flamage that is.

I read his posts on zilvia.

You will need to fab a bracket up front, and in the rear he drilled into the actual caliper. Or you can run Z32 rears in the back, the pistond is actually bigger than those in the Evo/STi Brembo's.

So I have an ABS system, does that mean I have to get the ABS J30 rotors also?or will any J30 rotors work? Obviously I'm very confused...Sorry noob here

I love J30s! Can't wait to reinstall. Hawk HP+ pads are too good, really stand up to heat and taking a beating without fade.

^^^ No you don't need abs brake calipers. They don't make such things. Your abs control box and sensor are elsewhere.

Let me know how they perform as far as wearing one pad down faster than the other. I had that issue with my R33 GTS calipers.

they are thinner just so you know so the pistons are going to be compressing more than they should.

Make sure to get the right mounting bolts. THEY ARE SUPER SPECIAL for the Q45 and J30. They are 11mm fine thread with a special shoulder. Don't try anything else or you'll screw up the holes and possibly ruin your whole caliper. Just my 2 cents.

And to whoever is trying to use sentra rotors... Cheap out on something that isn't as important as BRAKES.

there are several cars i know running the sentra spec-v brembo rotors on the j30 upgrade and have no issues, daily driving and weekend track. also, '97 Altima rotors will work with the j30 conversion. and how is it going with sentra brembo rotors or any kind of factory rotor cheap???

I just went to the local Pick 'n Pull and got a set for $43. Good deal and an awesome cheap upgrade!
