J30 Brake lights stuck

Can anyone help me...my brake lights will not shut off....I took it an auto discount store and the man said that under the brake pedal was a some kind of sensor and it may have come off or broken. I remember seeing a small black piece of plastic on the floor board the other day but threw it out...and apparently now I need it....Can someone help me locate where this sensor thing is as I have looked under the brake pedal and cannot see where to fix it...ThanksKaron

On the bracket for the brake pedal there are 2 switches that activate when you apply the pedal, The one on the right is the brake lights and it is a fairly easy part to replace,
